I was wondering how difficult it is to swap the stock steering wheel for a S2000, or any other oem wheels with airbag.
On paper; resitance wise, the s2000 wheel should work. The steering column match is another concern. appears as if the s2000 wheel has been swapped out on many other vehicles out there i.e. prelude, civic, etc.
What about the accord. Any info is appreciated.

hey there!
I swapped my 01 accord vinyle stering wheel with a 03 (i think) cl-s wheel.
The problem is the airbag fitment. I dont know if you can swap a s2k airbag into the accord system and make it work (compatibility). So you need to find a wheel with the same airbag design (i mean the middle piece -trim- with the airbag inside) so you can fit YOUR airbag into the new wheel.
On mine the fit was near perfect, but the rubber piece under it wasnt shaped alike. I needed to find another one (i think it came from a MDX). Damn that was a long time ago..
Also, you need to be very careful while doing this job. No static. You could blow up your airbag(s) and it will cost you, and maybe f*ck you up since this thing has punch lol.
If you are really serious about doing it i could take pics of the procedure in the factory manual.

Thanks for the reply.
I didnt think i had to retrofit my air bag into another steering wheel.
What's wrong with using the s2000 wheel with the s2000 bag?
All of the other guys swapping s2000 wheels, didn't swap the airbag.
Thanks

Thats the thing.. i dont know if they are compatible. If so, it's totally awesome hehe
What i'm worried is not only SRS connectors compatibility, but with the computer (programmation/recognition, voltage, generation/technology..ect.)
I really want to fit some acura CL-S seats in my car, but i really dont know (and cant seem to find neither) if they would fit (SRS wise) since i've got side airbags..
I hope someone can answer us on that one
