Default Headgasket Installation

How hard is this to do, I was gonna get a shop to do it since I don't really have the time but there asking 275.00 plus whatever the machine shop needs to check the head out. So can anybody tell me how hard this is to do.

it's not that hard at all..but you HAVE to have a torque wrench and the specs when putting the headbolts back through.

you can get a torque wrench from http://www.harborfreight.com for like $20. as for the torque specs, you can find them online or someone here will post. i have them, but they are at home and i'm out of town.

i know you have to do them in 2 stages. stage 1 is like 27 ft-lbs and stage 2 is like 45 ft-lbs or something like that.

I would buy new head bolts too. They stretch when you torque them down.
Buy a gasket kit- head set.
And buy a book that tells you how to do it.
