SoCal: Old insurance, Farmers since 16, no accidents or tickets, wanted $250/mo.

Now 26, 3 speeding tickets (right after I got the S2K), 2 on record and 1 non-at-fault accident = Mercury Insurance $150/mo. (i got quotes from everyone you can think of from AAA to Wawanesa).

Agreed, plenty of threads on this.

I had it at $160 with Geico but then they bumped it to $190 because they said too many OTHER people with this car are making claims. What the expletive does that have to do with me who never puts in a claim?!

My insurance is $80/month for full coverage. I'm 26, no [current] tickets or accidents, and the car is listed as a secondary vehicle. The less you drive, the less of a risk you are, therefore the less your insurance rate.

BTW it's MY04 with 35k miles.

Im 25 and I pay $115.00 per month. I was paying $98.00 but I had to re-new the policy in SC from NC, and a ticket didnt help either. Its still not bad, a few years ago I had a 96 BMW 318 and that damn thing was $242.00 a month.

It depends on the terms of your coverage, if you have great coverage you'll pay more. That being said I have as much coverage as you could possibly get w/ Allstate, I'm 24 and my insurance is like $150/mo.

S2000s have high insurance b/c when they first came out people spun and rolled a lot of them, be careful!

Are you serious? That's got everything to do with everything. Why do you think my ITR was more to insure than the S2k? Because ITR's get stolen a lot more than the S2k and people submit a claim. Insurance companies put everything into the equation--Theft rate, cost to replace the whole vehicle, if the car has traction control, etc. So the next time some tool posts about how he can scam the insurance company, flame on, because he's really scamming you out of your cash.

geico is the worst insurance company ive ever dealt with. I will never give them business again.

They screwed me for thousands when it came to settling for my stolen integra.

I've had people tell me the exact same thing. I've gotten quotes from them, but they were ALWAYS higher than State Farm, Liberty Mutual (my current ins. company) and All-State.

BTW, I had no problems settling after an accident with Liberty Mutual. Highly recommended.

your getting BUTTRAPED. im in miami and as far as my research tells me- this is the absolute most expensive place to won a car as an under 25 single male. im not even in school and paying WAY less with nationwide on ym s2 than i was on my integra with statefarm.. im 21. no accidents... but 3 prior theft situations.. my integra was stripped once and broken into once, and my s2000 seats were stolen and i had a cut top.. 3 days later i had a massive check in my hands with nationwide....

statefarm investigated me for the integra for 2 months and treated me like a criminal as i was called in for questions 3 times untill i finally threatened to sue.

im paying 130$ a month, full covereage with the LOWEST deductibles AND custom parts insurance.... i think my agent likes me...

bottom line.. nationwide is unbelieveable and even in an expensive situation im paying not even double what my married father does for an only liability grand caravan....

thats saying a lot.
