Default JDM ITR problem!! HELP!!

Hi

Just got a new JDM ITR all good apart from
there is a clunking/knocking when both going forwards and backwards
the knocking is more exagerated when turning

i have jacked the car up and felt for play in the hubs - ive done this both vertically and horizontally - both are fine

However when i rotate the wheel there is play - approx 1in (i have compared this to my friends ITR which has next to no play rotationally

Anybody know what may be the cause of the play/knocking???

Is it CV joints?
diff?
gearbox?

Thanks a lot

Most likely your CV joints, but could be any of those... You said you had the car jacked up to feel for play, why didn't you check the CV boots for grease or cuts?

My thoughts exactly, along with tie rods. Inspect the axles at the CV, and tranny side. Spin the wheels listening for any sort of noise from bearings or brake rub. This may be an Axe to the Head, but you have checked your lugnuts correct?

You just bought an import car, I would imagine a long list of maintenance and check ups are due.

there are no cuts in the boots

when i spin the wheels when jacked up there are bad bearing noises, but i cant tell whether its from the tranny or shafts

does the play in the rotation mean it could be the CV joints?

Listen closer lol. Now that you say that it sounds like it's for 90% sure the wheel bearings.
