Default Future of the S2000?

I'm considering buying a Brand new S2000 or the new CT-R (i'm abroad not in the states)

with some bias towards the S2k being a rwd vert etc...

but i was wondering... what's the timeline of the S2k like..

will it go out of production soon?

will there be a new version released? (i don't mean AP1 vs AP2 more like EK9 vs EP3)

i'd hate to buy one now and then next year there's a totally different one out..

but if it is going out of production.. then i'll grab one while I still can...

TIA

I don't believe that anyone on this site works for Honda in Japan. So pretty much any answer that you find on here can be found through a google search.

Thats about the best that you can do at this point.

My parents just bought an '07 and the dealers told them that there will be '08 models coming into the states. Beyond that...who knows.

Every year has been the last year since 2000, according to dealers. Seeing they just added the CR for 2008, I would assume there are a few more years left in it.

What I believe is that the s2000 is suppose to be a special production car, where the last one that is similar to the s2000 is the s600, which was 40 years ago, I think. So I doubt Honda will be have a new one out soon.

So, I guess the s2000 will be special for a long time, hahaha, and thats why I just got a 07 GPW

I love my S2000 and it feels very "late model". For my taste it will still be a current late model type vehicle for another 2-3 years. Its future beyond 2008 is undocumented.

Although you might want to keep an eye out for the BMW 135i convertible. Shes got a nice rear end with TTs to boot!!

P.S. You must have alot of LOVE for Wankels

interesting...

is the 135 going to be competitively priced with an S2k or will it be a small fortune?

yeah man.. I love the Rotary and what it is and stands for.... I almost bought an RX8 also to complete the collection ha ha.. but was leaning towards an S2k to be something diff..

P.S. i searched the net.. Rumours Say the S2000 is due for a shape change in 2011.. and will have back seats..

A search from google shows the price of the 135i to be roughly at $35,000. Remember though, this is the top of the line 1 series BMW. It has the same motor as the current 335i. There will be cheaper models.

Why dont you go do some research before trying to flame. The US 335i only has 300hp, not 375. In fact, even the Euro models have a maximum of 306hp.
The upcomming 135i will have a 306hp motor as well.
Read for yourself:

now, why dont you think about it...

What the hell are you talking about? Who said anything about a stage 2 evotech modded car? Then you want to start talking about the M series motor?
No, you're done.

Ok, great. What the hell does your e46 motor have to do with the discussion of the 135, or 335 motor? Or even further back than that...the comparison of price of the 135 to a new S2000?
And stop winking at me, I dont swing that way

That's great, thanks for bringing useless information into the thread. And you keep telling yourself that your e46 has "raw power". You're car isn't as cool as you think it is. It has so many computers telling you what you can and can not do its stupid. If you want a "raw" BMW, get an e30 M3. That car is a lot more "raw" than yours could ever dream of. Or do you just want to talk about this supposed "raw power"? I bet you think you are the sh*t because your e46 runs 13's. Wow...13's...that sure is raw power. Better than the 335? Not really...according to eurotuner mag the e46 runs a 13.4 with a manual. According to edmunds the 335i runs a 13.3. Or I am sorry, do you want me to find a quarter mile time for this imaginary stock 375hp 335i, and then compare that to your e46?

So you are admitting that you like men? You thought that because I drove a civic that you would make a pass at me? Yea, wake up from your delusional Wizard of Oz loving life.
