Default Is it safe to get a fresh valve job?

I have a beautifully ported head that I'd like to keep, but it desperately needs a valve job. I've heavily lapped in the valves before which gave it perfect sealing, but it's far from a 3 angle finish - it's basically just one angle. The entire 45* valve surface makes contact when it seats.

So of course, having horrible valve seating on a head with $900 of portwork bugs the crap out of me. I'd like to get a fresh valve job, but I'm worried about the valve installed height. What happens if the valves seat too far into the seats?

Hmm, 2:00am and I'm losing sleep over this. I found a good article though:

Looks like the main concern is that if the valve seats too deeply, it will become shrouded.

why not just take it to a reputable machine shop and have them give it a proper valve job.........

Take it to Portflow. Tom will do your valve job right, will have it done in short order, and may even pick up some CFM for you
Talk to him and he will be able to address your concerns as well.

Well, I just talked to the guy at Portflow for like 20 minutes. I can't believe how helpful he was. I'm kind of thinking maybe I should just ditch this head and send them a fresh one

Just have a reputable shop do the valve job for you. It's greatly hindering your flow.
