Default A Civic rally car?

I've decided to buck the JDM trend with my EK, and I think I should make it look like a rally car. I've already come up with huge mud flaps, a spare wheel for the roof, a little pop up WRX style roof scoop, and a huge light pod. But what else what I need to get on with the full rally style? I think stock 4x4 mode is the right height, it just needs alot more spring rate and bar in the back.

In short, what visually defines a rally car for you, specifically Civics.

This is gonna sound ricey, but I think it'd look dope. And being 20 I can't afford to actually Club Rally a car, and my local SCCA region doesn't run any Rally X events.

But maybe one day, heh.

Note the cone in my avatar. I've been Autocrossing since I was about 17 (I'm 20 now), and been a member for the past year or so. I'd really love to do a Rallycross just to get my feet wet, but there just isn't one in even remotely practical driving distance.

Dope pic.

Can you send me a high resolution version of the second photo?

kris@fatboyraceworks.com

I'd like to put it up on the site.

While the Integra isn't exactly retired, we probably won't be racing it as much as soon as the Civic is finished.

BTW: if you're going to build rally looking car, do it right. Only one rally car had the tire mounted to the roof/boot, and that was only because they had to. All real rally cars keep their spares inside out of the airflow and as low as possible.

Some inside information: Civic rally cars normally don't run front or rear sway bars in gravel/mud/snow trim. Mechanical grip is the name of the game. Spring rates are pretty close to stock, although total travel and droop is longer than stock. Some of the cars have roof scoops, some don't. All have 3/16 or 1/8" aluminum (or similar) skidplates. Wheels are normally 14x5.5 or 15x6, running gravel tires.

Rally cars don't need 4WD. But it helps. A ton. just make sure if you do rally that your intake is secure from water. Stock up on CV axels and boots etc.

As far as the whole rally lights. In virginia its only legal to have 6 light units i.e. low beams, high beams, and fog lights.( ithink its 6 but might be allowed 8 not exactly sure)

So in VA if you had a rally light pod with 4 lights or what ever. you would have to have them covered and disconnected until you actually rally. Not to mention you would get pulled constantly because most cops aren't sure of the legality of it. In germany i saw a couple daily driven rally cars. Peugeot 206 and golf GTI, as i remember. One of which had a 3 light pod. With rally graphics and sponsors all over it.

I say go for it, its your car. I am for it. rally look is BA.

^^I think you are being a bit harsh and immature there pal. He's a younger kid like me PLUS you could say the same **** about all the ******* FAKE race cars that people build on here w/ all the hottest JDM goodies for parking lot meets. He knows alot more than most stupid kids on here, @ least he knows what SCCA is and has participated in some autocrosses, who knows it MIGHT be a pretty cool idea. What have you done tough guy?

To the OP sounds like you would rally it given the oportunity so good luck no harm done in getting your car prepped if the opportunity ever came up, take it to the back woods if anything
