What can a tps do if its set too high? My car has been idling funny and i just tested my tps and it says .7v at idle.. normal is ~.45. Could this be the solution to my idle problems?

Yeah, that's weird.

I'm 99.9% sure it's supposed to be .5 completely off, and 4.5 completely on (WOT).

.7 isn't that far off from .5, I'm not sure if it would throw off the idle, but it could if it's fluctuating.

It's a variable resistor.

I don't know how it's adjusted though.

to measure it you need a voltmeter. cut a section of the red wire and probe it with the positive part of the meter, and the black to - on battery. turn keys on ignition on and numbers should pop up. to adjust you need to cut a slit with a dremel then move the tps around till you get .45 closed

when i put one on at the wrong tilt.. it was just a fuel cut at full throttle.. it would drive normally until WOT or just shy of it..
