Default 2001 Accord timing belt cover; Rubber or not? -pic-

Reading trough my factory manual they mention a rubber around the timing belt cover. Thing is i dont have any on mine, except at one little place (see pic)

Anyone has an idea if i would be supposed to have a tiny band of rubber down there or the groove is the only thing that seals the bloc casting?

thanks

The outside groove actually has a foam type seal. Usually this sticks to the block instead of the cover during removal. It's purpose is limited.
