I'm pretty sure you'll need to do some wiring isn't that gen of grs engine obd1 and your putting it into an obd2 car? correct me if i'm wrong. Also what about the wiring for the dual butterly hook up as well? Because I'm pretty sure stock civic ex's don't have it wired into the ecu harness.

You'll need to hybrid some mounts/brackets in there. You will need the 99-00 si rear T bracket and the 99-00 si upper driver side bracket. Other than that you will need to do some wiring using your ex engine harness and some of the gsr's plugs. (since your car is an ex i think the only wiring you will need to do is the iab) Then you should be good to go.

edit: i completely forgot its an obd1 engine in an obd2 car. In this case, I'm not too sure what you will need to do for the wiring....but theres plenty of info out there to figure it out.

depending on the type of civic you have you may have some extending wires the iacv fix and the 3 wire ckf to a 2 wire and you need the driver side bracket on the block and a 99 si rear braket and running in the vtec and oil pressure switch and the dual butterfly

How will I know if the engine will be OBD I or OBD II? Other than the years of the engine?
Just want to clear things up. I really want to avoid as much work as I can. The entire swap will be hard enough on its own.
Did I mention that it will be going into a Automatic Civic EX.

Do you guys think I should install the manual tranny first, or buy the swap and then install the new tranny?

Thanks again guys!

thats the one thing i wondered about from hmotorsonline.com is that they say that the gsr motors are from 94-97, eventhough the 94-95 are OBDI and 96-97 are OBDII... and if i were you you might as well do the manual conversion at the same time as the swap it only makes sense

Just placed the order today. Should be here in two weeks! I hope all goes well.
I'll make a build thread about the swap and the tranny conversion as soon as I some time on my hands!

Thanks again guys!
