Hey, I have been a member for a bit but never made an intro. I bought my 99 SI about 1 1/2 years ago with 42,000 on the odometer. It has some problems but I have been trying to help her out the best i can. On to the pics.

stupid previous owner tried and failed to rice it out

the trunk with my JL w6

 

Since i bought it I:
replaced dash
installed the missing passenger side air duct
replaced one of the tails with an unbroken oem light
installed mp3 headunit with a jl w6
bought new tires supra kumho ecstas
replaced cat

I noticed that they put lowering springs on the rear and not the front
and i still need side moulding for my front fenders and rear quaters
I am going to get new suspension, shocks and springs(recommendations welcome)
looking for a type r lip and then will paint it and the side skirts.

 

You bought it with those taillights?

yeah. I can't get rid of it either with those tails.

I bought it for $5,900. mechanically its great cosmetically it blows.

 

thats a good buy, but the person who had it before you deserves to be stabbed with a dull knife.

Why the expletive would you ruin a perfectly good dash.

why is there trim only on the door?

i thought si's had painted skirts?

real si or clone?

aren't those the toyota altezza tail lights? he did a clean job but it looks wierd, you cant get rid of those tail light huh? well i guess you can say its an altezza from behind and a civic from the front haha

Nice Si, until the rear shots come about. I guess get the real Altezza tails, and go with a nice JDM look on the front.

if you didnt like the tails why did you buy the car if you knew it couldnt be undone.

 

what an idiot....not you....the previous owner. i can honestly say, this would be a time where a nice set of euro clears would have been preffered.

 

hmmm.. i would at least take the tails off and paint the housing black... damn those things stick out liike a sore thumb.. im hoping you got a good deal

 

yeah bought it for reliability and the fact that it has a great motor. It was an si now its another victumized civic.

They are OEM IS300 taillights which are expensive as ***** to replace. Yes SI do have painted side skirts, they just aren't, yet.

This is my daily so the focus isn't on making it look good but keep it running great. When I get it looking better i will update this thread. Thanx for looking. The paint isn't stock not that to many people notice but trying to paint match the shop told me it has two different pearls in the paint, so its really the color blue of this car in person that makes me love it so much.

 

Wow, the previous owner really went through a lot of trouble to put those tails on! I read the part where you said you can't get rid of them and thought to myself "yeah right..." and then looked back and saw that everything is redone back there (except there looks to be a gap by the edges of the bumper cover). As someone else said you should open them up and tint the housings, or if you don't wanna open them you should tint the outsides, which might look better actually. Or you could park it on the street around blind turns and hope it gets rear ended, then insurance will pay for you to have it done
