Burning oil, and small leak... stupid question
I've got bad piston rings, and a small leak in the rear main seal.. put in sealants which seems to have taken care of the seal for now anyway. The question is, i have a 3 day drive coming up in a week or two, and with my dad recently being put in the hospital for a stroke, I don't have time or a place to fix it until after the move is over. Basically i'm just wondering if there's anything i can do to slow the leak/burning slightly for the drive.. going to try slightly thicker oil but damn... wish i had time to fix this thing so i don't have to pull over every hour and a half to add a half quart of oil.

Run 15w50 with lucas oil stabilizer.
No it won't hurt anything (as some people may claim).
Yes it will slow the leak/burn.
EDIT:
PS: Sorry to hear about ur dad. Hope he gets better.

Yeah really wish I had some other choice, but the house up here has sold and i'm staying with a friend until we move, the tools are already 1400 miles away... i'll give it a shot and see what happens, thanks man
The engine will be hot most of the time, so i'm not too worried about thicker oil either.. especially going down south with hundred degree temps every day
He's doing a lot better now.. just a small stroke but still. You know how that goes. Thanks man
