need help non honda chevy
Hi I need help quik I drive a 97' Chevy Blazer with a 4.3L V-6 and have a knock in the rear of the engine near the trans. Sort of sounds like I threw a rod but a mechanic said it was cracked flexplate(flywheel) and it would be an easy fix. Does 840 dollars sound like a lot to fix that since it's 120 for the part and the rest in labor(needs to drop tranny and maybe the transfer case) need help quick sorry for no relation to honda but I'm gonna sell it to buy one hopefully soon EK here I come.
well most shops charge like $70-90 an hour and they will mark up the part but its not going to take much more then 3-4 hours if he says it will take longer they are pretty much full of **** and are not very good. It only takes 8 hours to swap a engine out and put a new one it when im taking my slow *** time, with tranny swap too. I would say $500 would be a better price, I would great a written qoute from him and then go to some other places and see what they say, get a quote from them and compare. But im also in wi so i dont know what the normal hourly charge is. say its 120 for the part 50 for the fuilds and then labor for 4 hours its should roll in at just around $500 give or take an hour of work. Trucks are very stright forward when taking out the tranny and shouldn't have to take the transfer case off.
