And where is your turd car...oh wait.. last i checked it's still in San Antonio hoping to get "worked" on. I think the rust in the trunk will eat your car completely before you get your motor built and put back in. Hey my car drank a lot of red bull.. that's why the sideskirts HAVE WINGS!!!

Sorry to jack, but since the A3 has VTEC only on the intake and the A2 has VTEC for intake and exhaust, Would you need a Type-S ECU?

Sorry I'm noob at these still.

there was a whole deal about this on clubrsx.. it is possible to put an a2 head onto an a3 block but there is a lot of moddifying to get it to work correctly, it's time consuming and money spending. There's more to it then just slapping an a2 head onto a3 block and calling it a day. Personally i'd rather just fully build the A3 then trying to slap an a2 head onto a stock a3 and trying to make it work.

you dont even need to do all that. im building a a3 for my em2, you put stock type s cams and stock pistons in the em3 and you have a type s motor. that it ive done it and ive seen the results, the only diff between the two is the compression ratio of pistons and the non vtec exhaust cam on the a3. so spend like 500 on some cams and pistons n then go from there.

It's not that simple, you do need the head because your A3 head doesn't have the 3 lobes setup with the "wild" one in the center, so just having the cams won't do it. Also you do need the ECU because the A3 ECU activates the "VTEC-E" (switching from 12 to 16 valves operation mode) at 2200 RPMs on the A3, which is not what you need for a classic VTEC setup.

The difference between these heads has been covered before. This was a good thread about it: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2045625.

Look at the posted pictures so you can see the internal differences.

Shut ur poophole before some unsuspecting kid really wastes his money based on what u have said. there is the matter of the valve locking, the lack of oil squirters on the bottom end of the a3, and what the fack do the pistons have to do with an a3 head swap? youve done it? youve seen the results? ur full of ****!

if i were to work a A3 head and match cams to it according to the flow data i get would that be about as good or better than a a2 head would be.

so working the head and getting matched cams, and that head will not flow more than a A2?? so i should just boost the **** out of the a3 and hope for the best.

No to first question and yes to 2nd question (as long as you fully build the whole motor)
