Did a TypeR come with......?
I've got a friend that got a Type-R which he had imported from Japan ( i am not in the US) . The car came with all the body styling accessories for the TypeR. He had the car for a little while, and people would say that the car is pretty quick and beats most of the other typeRs.
But yesterday for the first time i looked at the engine, and the first thing i noticed is that is had a B18C1 intake manifold with the secondaries, which in my books means it is a B18C1 head. Did any of the Type-R come with this IM.
The gear box didnt have the LSD stamp, but to me that doesnt matter, since my GSR motor came form japan with a LSD but doesnt have the stamp either.

yeh that is what i thought. I am very impress with the car however.
I never raced it since i thought it was a quick Type-R and my built GSR-eg wouldnt stand a chance. I've got a B18C in a EG with P30 pistons CTR cam, lighten flywheel, JDM 4-1 header and Hondata S300, CAI and 2.5 Exhaust.
What do youo guys think ?

A GSR swapped Type-R, is what it sounds. Tell him to get rid of that shitty GSR intake system, get an AEBS or Skunk2 intake manifold with an appropriately sized throttle body.

This is what I'd call VERY MILD all motor, not built. Sounds like a fun setup though.

Actually the GSR intake is one of the best ones for all motor. It has nice long runners. You just need to remove the secondary butterflies.
That motor could have work done to it and just have a GSR head put on it, as that would raise the compression a pretty good amount seeing that the GSR has square combustion chambers.

i hate the intake on gsr.....but the duel plentum works great for 2 vtec kickin points...good tq (good as in better then b16).

the stock gsr manifold is good at what it was designed to do, work with the low vtec engagement and provide a smooth torque curve. now if you're into racing and dont care as much about your midrange a single runner style manifold would be better.

also, no one seems to be mentioning that if you remove, or disable the butterfly valve in the GSR intake, you lose all that "crazy" tourque. And then, why not just have the b16 or ITR intake?
I agree with what was said though, for what it does stock, it does well. But how long you really want to leave your stuff stock for? LOL.

Because GSR has an exclusive flange, that no other B-Series has.

yeh the car is tons of fun to drive. in the next month or so i am swappin out the cams for Skunk 2 pro 2 or Buddy Club 4. with valve springs, retainers and valves and maybe a port and polish. would you then call that a built motor
so far i raced RSXs type-R, the new Civic Type-r, and few other things, and the car hasnt lost yet
