SpeedFed today: Dyno, met Type-R owners, good day...
Well, I finally threw my caR on the dyno today, at SpeedFed Nationals at "The Rock" in Rockingham, NC. Paid $35 for 2 runs, first run was 155whp, second run was 157whp. After hearing these results, I was a bit confused at the low number, at which time I was informed by the operators that the dyno reads about 15%-17% low.
So 15% of 157whp, 23.5whp, my car dyno'd at 180.5whp (Or 183.69 with 17% decrease), very healthy for a stock Type-R engine with 103,000 miles, with a TODA header, Omnipower testpipe, DC Sports 2.25" exhaust, and AEM 3" CAI, I'm pleased with that number.
Not to mention, I realized after the dyno I was a quart low on oil (Coming up on an oil change, 1.5 quarts is what I normally burn during an oil change period), and it was 110degrees out today. The car was running rich as a pig, the plume of black smoke billowing from the exhaust was incredible, I never realized how much the car blows while into it (It mostly fades away behind me while tearing around, I never notice it, haha). The 240SX in line behind my car got covered in soot from my car, so it was quite ample.
So I think with some tuning, on a cooler day, and some good oil, 185-190whp would be very obtainable.
Also, I met Hooch'n finally, he had his caR out there, and I also met 1fastvtecCL, he was out there with his clicky pow. Cool guys (And girl), and nice cars.
Over all a pretty good day, before I got sick as a pig towards the end, and had to drive 3 hours home instead of staying up there for tomorrow. But, I'm happy, my car dyno'd good, had a HUGE ******* crowd watching it and cheering when VTEC engaged (Which I thought was funny, haha), and I had a good time watching a lot of drifting, a lot of drag racing, and matching a lot of online names with faces.
Video of the dyno will be up shortly, there was a group of guys jumping in the air with their fists up shouting "VTEC!!!" when it engaged, so I'm sure you guys will get a kick out of that.
EDIT:
Here's the video of the dyno, very small size, but you can hear it all pretty well.

Lots of free stuff like VIR tent (GT live event OCT)/NOS drink/etc., Drifting was ok but Mikes truck broke after having the diff welded, he is going back to LSD. Do much stress on the truck. Was a great event but not as big as i thought it was going to be, would have been real small if Chicago Nopi Drift wasn't canceled this weekend.
Just took video, so no pics. Sorry i missed Keith???? didn't see him out at the track
Stunna Ben had some great pics, i am sure he will post them in the next few days.
See you all at WE-TODD
PS...... During the event i heard the person over the speakers say "if you get the 2 corner workers some water, we will give you a free NOS engergy drink tool box"..me 20yards away ran up and got the free tool box, BlUE POINT-SNAP ON!!!!!!!!! for $1.00 worth of water (case 3.88) at walmart so even less. So it was worth going to the event after i won that

^ Dude, the 4G63 swapped Might Max "Drift Truck" was the ****, I absolutely love that car, with the smoke stacks and all, very unique.
Anyway, I just got a video of the dyno sent to me, they were filmed on the smallest setting on accident, but you can hear it pretty well.
VTEC!

"It's coming! It's coming! VTEC!!!" Haha.
Yeah, you just wait, any minute now, VTEC will kick in, THEN you'll be sorry... Yeap... Annnnnnny minute *sucks teeth*... Yeeeeap...
I was told that amount of oil consumption every 3,000 miles is normal for as aggressively as I drive the car. I'm sure it's got a slight loss of compression somwhere, probably the valve seals, but it's making good power still, I'm not worried. If it put down 127whp or something, I'd be worried. Not to mention, I'm planning on a rebuild/mild build in the next year, so it'll all be taken care of, with a little bit more power.
