Default vtec effects the brakes?

My sister has a 2004 civic ex, she bought brakes at a local retailer, she thinks when she was asked whether or not her car has vtec she thinks she said no. She bought the brake pads and had the mechanic install them...

I'm not going to take the brakes lightly on my sisters car, whats the difference...

im pretty damn sure all ex's have vtec, and not sure why it's even a question when she told them it's an ex. But anyway, do I have anything to worry about?

I might sound OT but i wanted to confirm here as well, is there any kind of sensor in the pads or caliper those EM2/ES with ABS? because I wanted to add ABS on my car but i'm a little bit confuse if i need to change the knuckle arms, brake caliper etc...

Sorry for posting here this query.

If you are only changing your PADS then it wont matter if its a lx / ex or whatever well not the Si (usdm of course) but yeah pads are pads abs makes no diffence on what pads to use

There's ABS sensors on each hub, as well as the module in the engine bay.

On the older civics, the trim had an effect on the size of the brakes. The brakes on all the 7th gens are the same, there are no sensors in the pads.... these things are about as "dumb" as they come.
