99 accord 4cyl will occasionally stall when coming to a stop
could anyone help me out with this one. I have a manual 4cyl accord that will sputter and stall when i come to a stop. the clutch is fully depressed and it doesnt do it all the time (maybe one in 20 times). I was thinking it might be the IACV(idle air control valve) or maybe the fuel pressure regulator any ideas what it could be? also if anyone knows where to get these parts cheap it would be appreciated.
thank you for any help.

Is your idle RPM (while in neutral and engine in operating temp) really low? Like below 500 RPM's? I mean, would it ever stall without driving it and idling in neutral too? It could be a dirty fuel system along with many other causes. Describe some more. As for parts, you can try manhonda.com, hondaautomotiveparts.com and a few others.
basically when i leave my house in the to go to work 11am (not to warm or cold) i start the car and it idles at 900-1000 rpms then i drive down the road and at a seemingly random point my car will stall out when i push the clutch in and come to a stop. the rpms will go from a 1000 and then 500 and then 0. Today i tried cleaning the Idle air control valve. which at first seemed like i caused another problem. the rpms would bounce from 1000 to 1500 and back down to 1000 over and over while sitting in the driveway. so i went around the block and when i stopped the first time it didnt stall but it raced the rpms up and down again but then when i got into the driveway after a less than 5 minute drive and the rpms settled into about 750-800. then i started the car an hour or 2 later and it raced again but when i got back home after 15 minute drive the rpms returned to normal. later on in the evening about 6 hours later i went for a ride and it idled at 750-800 and didnt race so i have no clue what is going on. hopefully tommorow it will be okay. I also changed my pcv valve and oil today. im pretty sure all the vac lines are on, is there anything else i should check? Thank you for the help.
this has happened to me before. i was pulling up in a gas station and all of a sudden the car dies. all power is lost besides the electricity. it happend to me on the freeway as well. but luckily it was traffic. sometimes the engine studders like it starts to shake then the rpms drops and comes back up.
my uncle took my car to the dealer because he told me it was a recall. it had to do something with the ignition. but the recall was in effect years back. so i dont know about now.
my 98 accord coupe 4cyl has not died on me recently but it has studdered. what i do is just mash the trottle to the floor. and it seems fine after that.

this too used to happend to me on my auto 98 alot. I would not stall out, but the rpms would drop to 350 then back up after i burp the trottle hard.
I seafoamed my car about 2 weeks ago, it made a huge differnce in power and idle, The deing rpm stoped for a week, im starting to get it back just a tad tho.

The constant idle fluctuating happened to me before, too. I don't know exactly what was wrong but I figured the MAF sensor was getting bad readings (after I put in so much intake cleaner in the throttle body) and was going crazy. After a whole can went in, the idle returned to normal, so I think your idle should return to normal, too.
Well since the few days after I cleaned the IACV I seem not to be having the stalling problem any longer and the surging idle thing stopped too I think. Ive been so busy doing everything else in life that I haven't been really thinking about the problem at all really. So I guess if I haven't been thinking about it I guess it must not be happening anymore.
I also bought a can of the seafoam stuff but only put about half in the gas tank a couple days ago and haven't poured any directly into the intakes or wherever it tells you to put it in on the instructions, which I'll do when I get my next day off whenever that is (maybe Saturday).
Thank you everyone for the help with this, if it happens again I'll let you know I'll post again. And if I can ever help you in any way I'll be sure to take the time to respond if I can help.
