CLERMONT, Ind. - SCS-7 - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Honda Tuning Magazine All Motor at the NHRA Xplod Sport Compact Drag Racing Series, First Annual NHRA Sport Compact Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Luke Wilson Runs 12.346/124.60, Now #1
Right Lane: Doug Parks Runs 13.297/65.93, Now #2

Luke Wilson's Honda Insight is making it's 2007 competition debut here at IRP - he took things really easy off the line. Luke Wilson's incremental times: 60ft-2.133 sec., 330ft-5.680, 660ft-8.340/097.60mph, 1,000ft-10.512
Left Lane: Julie Stepan Runs 10.384/129.01, Now #2
Right Lane: Scott Kelley Runs 9.846/136.12, Now #1

Scott and Larry will be campaigning one car this weekend, Larry's VW Beetle which competes in the Quick 16 category is back in CA.

Nice lap for Scott - Stepan trailed by a bunch at the stripe.
Right Lane: L. Durst-Armendariz
Runs 9.498/141.70, Now #1
Rumors abound that Leslie's team has found some more Scion horsepower recently...

Looks like the rumors might be true - she lowers the boom, and raises the top spot ante by four tenths.
Left Lane: N. Prayoonoto Runs 9.549/142.45, Now #2
Right Lane: Jeremy Lookofsky Runs 9.565/137.90, Now #3
Just 22 points is the difference between points leader Lookofsky and Prayoonoto. Lookofsky has held down the top position all year - Norris has been chopping away at the lead all summer. Both drivers stage very carefully - and Norris edges out Lookofsky, but didn't have enough to claim the top spot. 3:22 p.m.

Go Leslie go Leslie!

Left Lane: Marty Ladwig Runs 11.374/92.96, Now #6
Right Lane: Jason Hunt Runs 7.389/202.64, Now #1

That's the fastest speed in Pro Front Wheel Drive history for Jason Hunt and Matco Tools - and that makes three drivers over 200 mph in the same session. Wow - but hey it's Indy baby!

Jason Hunt's incremental times: 60ft-1.236 sec., 330ft-3.368, 660ft-4.955/157.39mph, 1,000ft-6.280

Ladwig labored right off the line and lifted.

Jason with a new Trap Speed Record! And #1 qualifier, hope my predictions are right! Gary Gardella also went over 200mph, I see a Hunt VS Gardella final

EDIT: E-Racing SUX!!!! I am sitting here biting my nails waiting for SFWD results to come in! Go CORT!!!! And go Jason Lopes BETTER RUN a ( this weekend, the car has it in it!

Is she running a sequential trans now? I remember she was an advocate for the sequential trans when it was first legalized, I never did find out if she ever made the switch....... Anyone know?

NHRA does not do enough to promote this class.

Ryan Smith was on his anti-lag the whole run. Switch went bad. 9's in a few minutes.

Tony is shiming the Carbon clutch

I hear Clutchmaster team is complaining about there Weight penalty they have on the K-series motors (just from the drivers meeting) so they wont run the car untill they change it.

Joe thats a awsome mph for that time keep it up

Cort laying the hammer down

Kyle keep your foot off the clutch cant go fast hitting 2 step all the way down the track lol you will run a 9 this weekend i have faith in you

Tony lets see another 9.4x this weekend

Jasen get the car dialed like you want it i know that SOL will fly

Good luck guys

Left Lane: Stephanie Eggum Runs 7.997/183.39, Now #2
No Prior Run
Nice pass for Eggum, her Honda went straight as a string right down the middle of the left lane. Stephanie Eggum's incremental times: 60ft-1.338 sec., 330ft-3.600, 660ft-5.318/141.42mph, 1,000ft-6.776
