Starting about 4 days ago, on the 93 del sol, ive been having an on and off problem with front left brake. its kind of like a screeching sound, metal on metal ya know? but the brakes are fairly new, even with the foot off the pedal, sometimes it will still make the ear peircing sound.. almost as if something were dragging, i took it to the car wash and sprayed them down well to make sure nothing was obstructing it. but its still there, any suggestions?

 

Check the pad retainer clip, sometimes that stupid thing brakes loose and it hits the rotor every now and then.

That's the warning device for when your pads are low, the one on my '95 broke....eh, whatever, cheap piece of metal, you can change them the next time you change your pads.

The other likely possibility is that your dust shield is hitting the rotor, make sure that's out of the rotor's way.
