do a leakdown test that will tell you the condition of the rings and if your leaking past the valves. Have you ever found metal shavings in your oil?

I've seen a stock 91 ls get boosted with 190k on it, still the original never rebuilt motor. drive boosted for over 2 years @9psi, even with 230k on the odometer. then just last month, removed the kit, replaced the AC, and now drives it as a dd without any problems what so ever.

some motors are just better then others. use what resources you have to find the internal condition of your motor. obviously check for any kind of smoking or burning of oil. if everything seems up to par, drive it til a problem develops and go from there.

Ive got over 420,000km on my LS block. It Started out as a stock 400,000km LS motor which i kicked the crap out of for like 5000km. Came across a turbo kit, freshend the head, cometic headgasket, arp's. Ran 8psi untuned (FMU) for like 5500km with no problems. Got a b16 head, used the same headgasket, same block (now at 411000km), fresh arp's and a bunch of new turbo parts. I experimented with different turbos and boost levels, timing, fuel etc for a long time. I think the most amount of boost I ran on was 15psi, but not for too long. AND NOW, finally 420,000km later if spun a bearing. All details of the motor are in the sig. LS's are some proper ****.
