im going to change the tranny fliud on my 01 4dr auto civic and i wanted to make sure i got the right drain and fill spots on the tranny. i havnt been able to find the FSM anywhere online to view for free if anyone knows a link please post it up thanks

 

Drain bolt is on the bottom backside of the tranny and to FILL it is where the dipstick is on top just place a funnel in there and fill to spec

 

i thought only manual trannys had a drain and fill spot. autos u have to flush.

 

The procedure is in the owners manual. I remember reading it once. It takes about 3 or 4 drain/fill cycles to flush it according to the manual.

 

well then i have a question... what about the manual tranny??? askin cuz im on 30k and need to change the fluid!

 

Easy to find, you have to use a ratchet only (no sockets). Might be hard to turn might take some strength

 

an auto trans can be spilled and filled, honda doesn't recommend flushing their transmissions. just use honda fluid and you shouldn't have any problems
