Do you mind using 100 daily lol.

You could do it in theory, but your timing will be wack. Comp ratio isn't the only thing for power, you'll be hard pressed to find an enjoyable setup running that on the streets.

you'd have more fun with 12:1

You will need to either run high octane fuel, or pull tons of timing at 13

you could do it, but be weary of getting a bad tank of gas. Look into E-85

p p p p p ping ping ping.

detonation is not your friend. 13.1 is waaaaaaaaaay too high. i wouldn't go over 12.1 on pump, but that's just me. plus, we only get 91 'round these parts.

i have a 12.5:1 setup and run it on pump. but in nj we get 94 octane. i still throw in octane booster just in case. but i didnt have to pull any timing out of it.

im using a b16 head on a gsr bottom end with an oem head gasket. so my comp ratio isnt really 12.5:1 its more like 12.2:1 maybe even 12.1:1 im using je pistons set for a 12.5:1 with a gsr head but because im using the b16 head which has a larger combustion chamber it automatically lowers my comp ratio.

12.5-1 JE's are for .0000 deck, what was yours? Anything lower than .000 you have less compression.

i had the machine shop set everyting up and they had all the info for the pistons right infront of them the whole time. i saw the guy mill the block out but i dont know how far he went with it but im assuming he didnt go all the way with it because i was concerned with piston to valve clearance because im using buddy club spec 4's which is a pretty big cam and i didnt wanna mill anything out too far to the point where my comp ratio is gonna be too high and my clearances are gonna suck. if i wanted to keep it at 12.5:1 i would have just kept the gsr head instead of using the b16 head. u get me?

all in all my comp ratio is probably closer to 12.0:1 than 12.5:1

That makes sense. I have purchased 13.5 -1 pistons that measure 12.7-1. Checked a 13-1 engine and got 12.4-1.

exactly. the static ratio is different than advertised ratio. not to mention theres a hell of alot more involved with caltulating compression than just the pistons. static compression is the usable compression advertised comp is just bull **** really lol.
