as the title says. what is the highest temperature that the exterior of an engine reaches. i would assume that the hottest part would be near the exhaust ports but i was wanting to know roughly what temperatures it will reach. reason bieng, when i pull my motor out i am going to be painting it and i didnt want the heat to make it flake off. so i was wnating to use a paint that was going to hold up to the temperatures. and no, it wont be spray canned its going to be either single stage or basecoat/clearcoat. thanks in advance
