total stocko 1990 4 door honda civic---need performance, what 2 do?????
has anyone got a plan of attack for me to get the ol girl up and flying.
i think it needs a blower or turbo as a basic idea, plus all the rest.
i just think if i can set a general direction to start off, i can get a good end result with minimal problems.
anyone know any tried and tested plans for the 1.5 twin carb, or should i intoduce a new engine as it is tired anyway?

Well, it depends on what your plans are. Is this going to be a track car, drag car, daily driver, or a mix?
There are a world of options, it just depends on what your end goal is.

Well obviously if you want the car to move at all, either a motor rebuild or transplant is gonna be the most viable option for reliable speed. Other then that, the sky is the limit. I'd get your chassis (suspension and brakes) up to snuff before you started worrying about speed tho. No point in going fast if you can't carry it through the turns. I've always started my cars by doing the suspension and corner balancing and then getting on to the motor/power plant. Thanks.

I agree, you can pick up an a6 cheap, or you can get a SOHC ZC that is basically the same motor other than a different cam, I got mine off of hmotorsonline for 350. Bolts in easily. Source yourself an Si transmission and build for turbo. That setup will probably give you the most bang for your buck. There are a million options and a million variables that come into play, do you want to keep ac? Daily driver? On and on.. There is tons and tons and tons of information on this site you can access through searching https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch and through lurking and reading. Look at the different build threads and see what others are doing as well.
