Default Delsol stopping power

Hey all,

I replaced my rotors and pads a few months ago, with brembo set from 88rotors.com .
couple of questions. Why do these things rust up when it rains, do all rotors do this?
Second, delsol brakes are weak as heck, what can be done about this?

Thx

My stock ones will get rusty if they're wet and sitting, but the pads grind away the rust real quick if I'm using the brakes. Are you saying that they rust up even when you're using them?

Which Del Sol do you have? The S has small front disks and rear drums, the Si has small front & rear disks, and the VTEC has larger (though not "big") disks all around. If you have an S or Si you could alway swap in the larger brakes off a del sol VTEC or teg (i think they're the same), or invest in a bigbrake kit.

Are you sure its your brakes that are weak, and not your tires? How are you expieriencing weak brakes?

I have an si. The rust goes away, but it's annoying though. When I pull away and brake for first time, you hear the grinding of the rust, and sometimes they lock because of the rust albeit only temporarily.

The tires are definitely good, they are only about 10k miles old. I just feel that the brakes are weak & just slow to stop.

Cheap tires and cheap pads destroy braking performance.

Make sure your fluid is fresh also.

The fluid I don't know about, but the tires are high quality, and the pads are ceramic pbr something or other, they came with the rotors.

it's perfectly normal with the rotors, especially if you don't drive the car often.
