Default Red light ticket (not tech related, i know)

does anyone know how much these tickets run for in LA, CA?

so im driving home yesterday and i pull up to an intersection and the light was red to continue, but i was making a right turn so i dont see any cars coming so i make the right turn, and a few seconds later this cop pulls me over and i have no idea why! im thinking is my exhaust too loud, is my car too low, whatever so he tells me that i blew the red light, and i said i made a right turn how could i of blew the red light. The cop said he was right in front of me and he saw me take the red light. But if he was why didn't i see him???!! i believe he was coming on the same intersection that i made a right turn to enter it and he must of assumed that i just sped trough the turn!

how can i fight this ticket?

Get a good *** lawyer, or just pay it (don't think you'll get points on your license)...

Here in NC, seems like all tickets are $150.00

did you stop at the intersection and than take the right turn? or did you just tackle the damn thing like a bat out of hell?

If you stopped at the intersection, and there is no sign saying NO TURN ON RED...then your fine but in the end when its your word v.s. the cops word, the cop will always win.

ticket cost will vary from court to court. you need to do a lot of research on defending yourself or just hire a lawyer.

it's unfortunate that cops like to profile cars and pull us over just because we're driving a lowered car.

it sounds like you didnt stop...

You say you yieled, which implies that you didnt come to a complete stop before turning.

X2.... You have to make a complete stop, as if it was a stop sign, before proceeding to turn right. You should be receiving a letter in the mail in a couple weeks letting you know how much the ticket will be.

Why don't you answer teh question about whether or not you actually DID stop for a redlight?

Up here in canada we call what you did "a california roll". You slow down and look around and then just go. Its done on stop signs, redlights, etc.

RED means STOP. Then go. Got the ticket, pay the fine, learn to drive. If you wanna know what it'll cost try asking someone at the courts or the police station. People on here are all from across the continent, it's going to vary.
Idiot.

I find it funny how half of the people who responded to this thread had no idea you had to STOP at a red light.

You talk like yielding is good enough. Who taught you how to drive?
