Default ~ My 98 gsr build.. looking for suggestions and opinions! ~

ok so i have a 98 gsr with 168k. She still runs good without any problems, but im thinking its time for a rebuild. This car is my daily driver and i do drive it back and fourth to school and work. I am going to go with an all motor set up with a budget of about $2500. My goal is 200whp on 93 octane pump gas.

My current mods are a jdm ITR 4-1 header w/ carsound high flow cat and a Thermal R&D exhaust. KBY agx 5-way adjustibles w/ H&R sports.

The set up that im looking for is as follows:

-JDM ITR pistons .25 O/S
-ARP rod bolts
-Honda .25 O/S rings
-Blox type B compition series cams
-SuperTech valves
-Supertech dual valve springs
-Supertech retainers
-ITR intake manifold
-ITR TB
-OEM Main & Rod Bearings & Thrust Washers
-OEM Bottom End Gasket Kit

Anything else that i am forgetting here? And with that set up do you guys think its possible to reach 200whp on 93 octane on a good tune, and be able to drive it back and fourth to work daily?

Suggestions from you guys about my build would be great and very much appreaciated!

With a good tune you might be able to get close to 200. Not sure if you will hit the nail on the though. What kind of intake are you running or will you be running? Since you are going to be running the ITR TB I would suggest you get an AEM ITR 3" CAI. I have seen dyno sheet's to prove that they make power. Good luck on the build and keep us updated on the results.

Make sure you have good shops do the machine work. Get a good tuner and a good EMS. Then your pretty much set, I think 200whp is a good goal with those mods.

You can always looking into gearing or an LSD isnt that bad of an investment.

instead of using the ITR IM i could always go with a Skunk 2 if that will make a bigger different, and for an Intake im not sure on that yet at the moment i have a password JDM carbon fiber one. And is this possible with a $2500ish budget u think

I reccomend the skunk2 IM, but I don't reccomend the password JDM intake. Here is why...

edit, I don't know if you will be able to keep it at $2500, but you should be somewhere in that price range, and can probably pick something up used for a little cheaper.

I think that with all the ITR upgrades you'll get close. Good luck with it and let us know how you make out.

Just wondering what kind of 1/4 mile times are the average for an all motor 200hp car?

you will make close to 200whp. it all depends on your tuner.

You don't have written what you are tuning with (unless I'm missing it) You WILL NOT hit that WHP unless you tune your car.

I also don't see any kind of injectors. (again unless I'm missing it) You may want to consider getting bigger ones

i just got a car, now only 6 more years until I can start thinking like it.lol...no but seriously, zooming out. youve got $2500?

look, cars are a money pit, any girl will tell you the same thing. yes, women are human too. i would like to see you cut down your budget by $400.

i would wait. look at the big picture. realize an older m3, ya know the boxy type, nobody has those, it wont be trendy, the car will fall out of that ricer steriotype that follows imports like a ugly brown bag. but then again, being into money pits in the first place is like an addiction, so why ask the addicted what has worked for them? because you need some sense of adventure, and loosing your money is an adventure in this place. well, at least so.cal. cause im famous or something.
