I owned a 91 CRX Si when I first got my license. It was a great and fun car to drive. Was passed down from my brother, but some a-hole t-boned it on the street. Lucky I wasn't in the car or anyone near it. This was when I was such a noob about cars, so I have no clue what's an Si was.

Fast forward 6 years, and currently driving a 02 WRX, kind of a gas guzzler now, I want to get another CRX for my long commute. This is for driving from Buffalo, NY to Boston, MA every other weekend. I'll have to keep the WRX for the winter in Buffalo. But for the price of a CRX nowadays, I'm thinking of picking up another one. Plus I wouldn't care about it getting dents and dings from the school parking lot. So, are there any official reviews from magazines or something for the CRX?

The cars that I had owned:

91 CRX Si = excellent car for noobie drivers.
95 Integra L= Decent
98 Integra GSR= Fun and very reliable!
99 Subaru RS with STI Swap= Very fast and fun car. But with the problems from a project car, it have to go.
02 WRX= Current, and reliable. But tired of pumping 93 octane.

I know that posting in the CRX section with wanting one, and not worrying about "Dents and Dings" may offend or maybe violates some of you fan boys/girls rules, but please be generous as I am trying to learn more about this model.

I tried, and only got user reviews. Just trying to learn the different model and engine, etc. Currently using the search to track down more info.

what do you mean "official" reviews? like car and driver mags from the 1980's?

 

heeheh yeah, something like that. Guess, I'm out of luck for now. But I found the brochure of the 91. Too bad the pictures are small and the fonts are hardly readable.

 

but i mean, youve driven the car yourself. whats a 20 year old article on a 20 year old car going to help you with?

 

I have got a comparison between the CRX, Fiero, and MR2 at work. I think it was in car and driver. If I remember I will scan it at work tomorrow and post it.

I have a consumer reports mag that I found in my basement that compares the 1989 crx si, 240sx, Plymouth Laser and Subaru XT. Pretty cool find.
