Default recent mpfi swap! Now my ef redlines at 3200 rpm! HELP

I'm in the process of completeing a mpfi swap, but now my car is in limp mode at 3200 rpm. ECU error codes 4 and 10. I believe i have the wiring at b10 and b12 right, but obviously not, so any help would be great.

well, after rechecking my wiring for the 100th time i can't seem to figure out why my car won't run properly. I've checked c1 and c2(switch to b10 and b12)c1 and c2 from plug side to engine bay. a3 and a7 to injectors. Why won't it work? Should i just get an entirely new harness? Considering i haven't heat shrink or soldered the wiring yet, maybe thats the cause? But i don't want to solder if i have it wrong! DANG this SUCKS!

You may have to re-pin and strengthen your conections. Try making good solder points for your connections and try de-pinning and re-pinning your connections at the ECU to make sure they're sound, reset the ECU and see if it goes away. Wiring is always a PITA, good luck.

Well, I'll do what i got to do. Thanks for the input, appreciate it guys! Let you know how it goes...

It's most likely still a wiring issue. You may also want to try using a different distributor just in case.

What motor do you have? The PM7 is for a DOHC engine FYI. Came out of vehicles with an OBD0 DOHC ZC.

ARGH! Frusturated! Dang man.... now my baby won't even start... I mean the engine turns but it won't fire up... After soldering all my connections i took the dizzy and opened it up to look for the crank angle sensor but with no luck. Since then it only fired up once. Some of my buddies told me it could be my timing. So how do i check my timing? Is there a certain tool i need? Or can i just eyeball it? Well, still waiting for my new dizzy and my ecu... Hopefully that darn pm7 will work. Hopefully you're wrong dude. Or else i just wasted 60 dollars... So HELP WANTED! thank you

Yea... are you running a SOHC motor? You're gonna want a PM6 or PM8.

If youve had your distributor on and off a bunch of times, its probably your timing. Go get a timing light and then follow the instructions in the service manual to set your timing.

okay turns out my new ecu turns out to be a pg8 instead! 88 teg... okay well i got my baby running again! Damn that B10 pin at the ecu... So here's the deal. I have 3 ecu's... pm5, pm6, pg8... Hmmm i can't remember exactly but whatever... that new ecu works too... Also, a have 3 dizzys, my dx dizzy and 2 si dizzys. Just thought maybe i ones i had was bad. Nope, its wiring! I've narrowed it done to just that. I've soldered and shrinked all my connections, (except for that one b10 for now) and the ecu is throwing cel 4, 6 and 10 now.
4- crank angle sensor
6- coolant sensor
10- IAT sensor
How can all these sensors be bad or just wired wrong? It shouldn't be rocket science just color to color right? Anyways, the main problem now is trying to get my baby out of limp mode! Won't rev pass 3000 rpm, and when you give it gas the engine seems to be choking or running too lean cuz the ecu don't know how to control the fuel/air ratio to rev properly. So when you step on the gas it'll choke and then rev up and a **** load of back-fire too. maybe these are the symptoms of limp mode... i don't know... So, i thought maybe i forgot to pressurize my gas? Nope not that... Maybe its coolant leaking into the head?(bought new gasket and bought gasket sealant). Can't be that... Made sure the pin connections are strong by sqeezing those pins together after depinning them. Took about 2 hours to do just that. Now... same deal.... I'm running low on ideas fellas... yes, i have already reset the ecu, no luck there either... The only thing i've yet to do is get a timing light the check my timing...I'll do this probably tomorrow and hopefully have some better news for you guys.

Just the resistor box did ALL THAT?
What box WERE you running?

Started to sound to me like you had the IAT plug on the wrong sensor.
I think that's the one that is accidentally interchangable with some other plug.

well, its time to decide whether you want to be your own mechanic, or let someone do it for you, Ive figured out many wiring issues going step by step according to the Honda service manual. You need to start checking resistance and voltage to diagnose the problem, its not always as simple as match color to color.

Sry that im jacking this blog thing. I cant create a fourm thing yet it said i have to post 5 post things or something? Idk.. But i did timing runs a little better but still code 4 and no higher than 3,400rpm or something close to that cuz i have no tach but i know its close to that. I need help sooooo getting sick of this i need my car. I bought it and did the swap D15B7 head, intake manifold and injectors, have an injector box but the injectors still work perfect weird. But i have a d16a6 computer, dizzy and a d15b1 block. I bought it over a month ago and cant even drive it for some reason.

Thanks man it kinda helps i did this way the 1st time but same result. I used b2 in the b10 spot and already had a wire on the b12 so used it to my advantage.

I kept c1 and c2 in there spots. Guess ima have to re-do wiring 1 more time and if that dont work ima replace dizzy. COuld it be grounds? Cuz i have new ground wires plus the stock one's which helps...
