Razor for everything that doesn't have the defrost veins. For everything that does, take it to a local shop.
oh bro.thats a pain in the butt job..i am telling u
when i first bought my eg hatch.it got crapy tint.the shop wanted to charge me $100~$150 to remove it.i had decided to do it myself.i went to the auto parts store and bought a window tint remove kit for like $7. so i did it myself. took me 2 and half hours to remove all the tint on 5 windows include the pain in the butt hatch glass with deforest lines.everyone can do it just need a lot of patient and time.
i totally had no idea what and where to begin.so i pull the old tint off and it left a layer of sticky resedue.so u spray the tint removal on it and carefully scrap it off.u will get to it.

I used a heat gun...it peels off really easy but some glue would still be left of on the window i have to use a goo remover ( i forgot wats it called something about goo) on the glue still sticking on the window and razor.
"I just used a straight edge razor, windex, and industrial goo-gone. " and something that really help me to remove my tint is a extention piece that attaches to the razor blade ....i think they sell it in a kit for cheap auto zone if i recall correctly...

I'm not sure which model of car you have, but if you have a coupe/hatch the quarter windows might be a pain to install. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure they aren't just bolt up windows, they are sealed. The front ones are pretty simple to change and if you have a four door all of the doors will be easy to change.
I suggest trying to get the tint off first before buying new windows.

spray amonia on it, leave it out in the sun, if you want you can tape a bag to trap the fumes.
this is how i did mine
ammonia peals away at tint, thats why you can't use an ammonia based window cleaner on tinted windows...it will also help dissolve the glue
also you can try to peal it off, a couple weeks ago i completely removed tint by just pealing it off, took five minutes on a del sol

Honestly, a steamer is the best thing to used to remove tint from your windows. You can used all those hursh products to remove the tint but you could just used a steamer. If youre tint is purple then thats means that it faded, no one sells "purple tint" like that. Youre going to have some glue left on the window, well its like a haze or some sort because of the age of it. You can use like 409 of some of youre household products to removed it. And when your doing to back window, after your remove the tint get a brilow pad and 409 to remove the extra glue. that is going to take you awhile but you will not damage youre deforster.
