Default Ek Ashtray...

Hey guys im trying to find the lower ashtray console for a ek civic. Its the one right under the radio pocket, and above the cup holders. It has a pull out ashtray and a lighter. They stopped making them but i was just seeing if you guys know anywhere that still sells them. Or if you guys have one or know anyone that has one that i could buy from them. More more thing do you guys know the exact name for this, so i could find it better. Thanks so much to all my fellow H-T peps...

They're not hard to put in at all.

Step 1) Remove 4 screws holding in driver's knee bolster panel. Remove panel.

Step 2) Drop glove box by pressing in the sides to fit past the dash frame.

Step 3) Remove 4 screws on edge of 12v-ACC panel (stock panel). Remove two screws on face of panel (located above the 12v socket). Remove panel.

Then just reverse it.

just keep searchin around you might come across one sooner or later...i looked up the part# for that part on our honda catalog but there is no more anywhere...even tho some parts are discontinued there might be a couple floating around in other warhouses in the US..just like the 99-00 SI lip, its been discontinued but there is a few floatin around in other places that you can still get and after those are gone its gone for good..

How 'bout that one?

While considering buying the OEM Ashtray (from ebay above), I started thinking... Why be such an OEM snob? I went with the Kragen (CKS) one, and I'm glad I did. I'm about as OEM-Snobbish as there is, but I didn't feel any desire to go OEM for what I felt I "needed" (what I need to do is stop this ******* disgusting habit!).

But I acknowledge that we all have different goals for our cars, and if you feel the need for the OEM Ashtray in K, then go for it. But if your goals are simply to have an ashtray in your car, then...

Smoke 'em if you got 'em!

All i have to say is exactly to the guy above me. It is mostly for looks with a little added function... So if you want to be cheap and give up on a fight to find a now become more rare part. Then you do that and buy all the ashtrays you want, ill stick with waiting and finding one that i like and looks nice in my car...

Just throwing it out there, sorry for trying to offer alternatives...

I'll get back to keeping to myself now.

I wouldn't mind one either, but more because I like OEM parts.

I have no idea which one JasonGhostz was talking about that he bought, but I wouldn't think it'd flow as well with the car.

He had the ones you put in the cup holder. But jason i was just saying, why give up if you really want the part. Right now too, you know there are still a few out there. Not like in 5 years you will never be able to find this damn part. But i dont plan on having my civic in 5 years so if i find on or even 2 ill let you guys know. But i get the first one...

It was available in the US too. It's discontinued here. I wouldn't be surprised if the same goes for Canada too.

I can't see how much this could help anyone since if you call up Honda or go in, they can look up the part number themselves...

But, here are the part numbers:
ASHTRAY W/LIGHTER (CHARCOAL) = Dark Gray
08U96-S01-160

ASHTRAY W LIGHTER (GRAY) = Light Gray
08U96-S01-160F

ASHTRAY W/LIGHTER (TAUPE)
08U96-S01-1F0
