What are your plans for the motor? Are you willing to bore it at all?

I want to keep it non turbo and if you have to bore ill get it done. But is there a way to get it ready for turbo running no turbo then later slap one on. im just checking my options out..

well, you have the vitara pistons and Tuner toys H beams you could use. Break it in and keep it N/A and boost it once you get all your parts. You could also use 87-88 rods and pistons from a integra and have a bit more compression but still be able to boost it. This would be cheaper and still give you what you want. You dont have to bore it out for either app but i would recomment resurfacing the deck enough to ensure a good seal and a quick hone job on the cylinder walls. the most expensive parts is the machine work. Other than that it should be a easy break down and reaseembly.
good luck!

Really if the motor's got mileage you should consider boring up to the next piston size. If this is just going to be a cheapo motor that you don't care about so much, just get the deck surfaced and walls honed. I wouldn't suggest the Vitara pistons unless your're sure you want to run boost and a decent amount of it. They're so low in compression that it's going to be a dog NA, and even with ZC or d16a1 pistons your compression will be decent enough for any amount of boost you'd put at the stock bottom end anyways.
That's my two cents. If it were me, I'd bore it out one size and use some ZC pistons or just keep the A6 pistons and leave it.

Like he mentioned... highmileage might require on size bigger. The low comp on the Vitaras isnt as bad as you think. I beleive it only sucks **** in a DOCH ZC compared to the SOHC 1.6's and ZC's.
You should be able to find pistons for your application for a decent price on Ebay.
