fixed. thanks guys. bolt was missing from alternator

I can guarantee you that it is NOT your timing belt that is causing the squeal. If it was, your car would not be running at all.

Check your adjustment bolts for your A/C belt and for your alternator belt. Sounds like you lost one of those that won't allow the belt to stay tensioned, so it squeals.


EDIT: I know this forum moves kind of fast, but DAMN!!! I'm sure if you allowed more than 15min you would have a response. no need to keep bumping so close together. AND, you can accomplish a swap, but can't diagnose what is causing a squealing sound? Good luck anyway.

 

i dont have ac, so it should be my alternator belt right? it does feel kind of loose when i apply pressur w/ my hand. and as far as the swap thing. this is my third swap by myself. and i cant diagnose a problem like that thats why i H-T. thanks for the fast reply. and i bump the thread because if its at the top its more likely to be looked at.

Then yes, it would be your alternator belt. It doesn't have to be very loose to cause a squealing noise. You just want the belt to easily move about 1/4" when at proper tension. If it still squeals, its too loose. If it whines, then it is too tight.

Power steering pump is what you probably lost the bolt from, that or the A/C compressor. As soon as tension loosened on the belt it will begin to squeal.

 

id say check all the accessory belts.
