My car squeeks. I don't know why.

When I drive it will start to sqeek then stop but, if its sqeeking and i press on the breaks it stops. So i dont really know if its my breaks or what. Has anyone had this problem before? p.s. its an 89

is it when your car is moving? or when you start your engine?
