I HAVE A 89 HF CRX INSTALLING A B16A1 EVERYTHING IS READY EXCEPT THE OTHER PLUG WIRE THAT IS TOGETHER WITH THE RESISTER BOX PLUG I DONT KNOW WHERE IT GOES AND THE FUEL PUMP DOESNT TURN ON WHEN I PUT THE KEY IN AND TRY TO START IT SO I DONT KNOW IF THAT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THAT SO PLEASE HELP ME
Do you have a picture of the plug? Are you talking about the chassis harness on the drivers side or the engine harness that is on the drivers side.

ok the chassis harnesss on the driver side ia a round plug but the harness of the engine is square and those are the only plugs missing so it looks like they go together but how and i dont know if that plug has to do with fuel because the square one comes from the injectors so i dont know if that has to do with the fuel pump becuase the other is the resistor box. the square plug is the same shape as the resistor plug but is not green

ok so what should i do get a hf harness or what is the hf harness fuel injected or carburated is 89
Hey man, I have a 91 crx w/b16 swap. What harness are you using?? You can NOT use the jdm b16 harness!!!!!
You must use your factory harness from a hf or si muti point injected car.
Also why are you messin with that resister box. Once you have the right harness it plugs right into everything the way you removed it.

If yours came with a b16 harness your in luck, You need to cut some of those plugs off to make your 4 or 5 wire harness for vtec to work as well as your 2 oxygen sensor setup. If you need help with that let me know

The hf and si harness are a little different. The ignition output signal is on the drivers side on the hf and on the passenger side on the si.
Look at the roung plug on the chassis harness and the square one on the engine harness. Are the wires the same colors? Is there the same amount of wires? If everywire is there you could depinn it and switch the plugs.

Its that simple. No need to depin anything. Its not complicated at all</TD></TR></TABLE>
If you don't have the harness than depining it would only take two to three minutes of you know what you are doing. It would be less time to depin it than to change the engine harness.
If you got the b16 harness you need the vtec selonoid plug( 1 wire), vtec oil pressure plug(2 wires), knock sensor plug (1 wire) and secondary 02 sensor plug (1 wire)for Vtec.

THE THING IS THAT I BOUGHT JUST THE SHELL BUT I JUST FOUND OUT ANOTHER HARNESS ON EBAY WITH THE ROUND CONEECTOR SO I HOPE IT WORKS BUT I NEED YOU TO HELP ME OUT ON HOW TO DO THE SECOND 02 SENSOR. I HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION I HAVE AN AFTERMARKET HEADER IT ONLY HAS ONE HOLE FOR THE 02 SENSOR BUT IT IS DOWNSTREAM IS IT BETTER TO PUT BOTH SENSORS UPSTREAM LIKE OPEN TWO HOLES ON ONE OF THE PIPES SO I CAN GET AIR/FUEL RATIO OR IS OK ONE DOWNSTREAM AND ONE UPSTREAM JUST LET ME KNOW THANKS
Ok, The jdm b16 uses 1 oxygen sensor per 2 cylinders. They must be upstream in the 1st part of the header. Did your b16 engine come with a header???
If you use an after market header you must have the 2 oxygen sensor bungs welded in the correct places to avoid a check engine light!! You can plug that o2 sensor hole on the downstream with a bolt.
