Default tottally dead battery...but!!!!

i had one of the worst days ever with this car since i bought it

bought a brand new battery ..... alt still putting out a lot of power

BUT the battery is now totally dead
after jumping the car and driving it around for about 20 minutes i parked it to see if the battery charged and tottaly dead and now the key won't come out of the ignition... took alt out and brought it down to get tested... still working!!! and now the car won't even turn over

what could this be ? i can't figure it out... the wiring seems fine....
could it be the fuse box under the hood?

i thought somethign was draining it but i don't know what... all grounds look alright

Take it to an electrician that specializes in cars. I would bet that there is something draining the **** out of your battery when it isn't supposed to. Could be a light that is accidentally being grounded to the chassis, or something else of that nature. Someone who specializes in it can find it fast and fix it.

I had this problem with my old probe gt, the light in the trunk was sucking my car of all its juice. Took it somewhere, they identified the problem and fixed it. Never happened again (mind you, they fixed it by breaking the ******* bulb lol)

Good luck.

Auto or manual? Reason i ask is cause your key not coming out.

Also what year is the car? In your under hood fuse box you have an 80A fuse that connects from the batt to alt. If its blown your alt isnt going to power your batt. Take out your volt meter and check the power while the cars running from the alt to the fuse box then the fuse box to the batt and come back with the results.

I had a key get stuck in my ignition before. It happened a few times with the same key. The car would turn on easily too (it would turn fine, but not come out of the cylinder).

It was a key made by Honda and I'm thinking it needs to be sanded down some.

It took some work to get it out, and while trying my hardest to get it out (jiggling, moving the wheel around, turning the key), it eventually fell out like it was nothing.

This might be the recall he was talking about (it's for 6th gens though).

And I don't either. I've never owned an auto. Still happened to me too though.

Worse comes to worst, just get a new ignition cylinder and have it re-tumbled to the key that fits your doors and such.

It shouldn't be that expensive. Buy a used ignition from a salvage yard. Call some places to see where you could get it re-tumbled and how much it would cost.
