nrg tech built a race car for a customer, a customer paid for the vehicle via a check, customer takes vehicle, nrg cashes check, check bounces, customer has vehicle, nrg tech has no money......that bout sum it up?

almost... from what I gather... generally.

<U>(attempted scam)</U> NRG worked on car originally, customer tried to scam them with his cc claiming it was a fraudulent charge he was not aware of, NRG contacted cc company who contacted customer, NRG/ cc company established that the customer did authorize the charges and was trying to pull a fast one.

<U>(actual scam)</U> NRG gives customer another chance after he blows up his motor, NRG rebuilds the motor and whatnot, customer starts to pay but does not continue to pay per their agreement, NRG slows work on car for which they are not being payed, customer does not contact them for a period of time for whatever reason, NRG gets call from customer that he finally has the money and wants car, NRG finishes car, customer shows up/ drives car/ looks over everything/ gets invoice for total/ writes check check and is very happy with everything, customer gets home and decides to stop payment on check for no legitimate reason, NRG has outstanding balance of thousands and customer has car, customer posts retarded thread here then crys about being exposed as a total scamming piece of ****, customer basically admits while crying here that he is a flaming ghey dbag and offers NRG sexual favors for balance ( ).

Oh and almost forgot. Said **** smoking hemroid nibbler, errrr I mean "customer", lies throughout... meanwhile his actions and posts speak volumes of his actual intent.

that story above is exactly why we do not accept checks here at the shop... you never know your customer until they do some lame **** like that.

well what about holding the product until the customers check clears? once it clears, then the customer can receive their product.......wouldnt that work?

but then again you have some customers who want their **** NOW and cant wait.

 

It is one thing if we have the car, and we are doing a lot of work to it. In this case, if we need money for parts or whatnot, then a check might be do-able, still not our payment of choice. Letting a customer leave the shop with their car/parts without paying with cash or a credit card is not an option in our eyes.

We have been burned and it won't happen again.
