Need new timing belt i think

Default Need new timing belt i think

ok so my car makes a weard rubing or krakling noices when i rev my engen at really low rpms and my belt is really lose but i am not sure if it is or not. what is the best timing belt to buy or should i just get a new one from the honda dealership.

Honda timing belts are not really that expensive. http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com would be your best bet for OEM stuff, but if that proves to be a problem, buy a Gates timing belt, as they make Honda OEM belts.


Do you have an audio clip perhaps? Water pumps can make some pretty odd sounds when they go, sometimes its a low pitch growl, other times its sounds like the belt is hitting the timing cover.

change it anyhow to be sure. the belt shouldnt have any play. Just change the water pump while changing the belt. it saves a lot of heartache in the future.
