d15b1 swap for a d15b7 vtec...still use same tranny, axles, and mounts?
My d15b1 died... I'm going to swap in a d15b7 vtec. I was still wondering though if I could still use the stock 4spd man tranny, axles, and mounts. I know a 5spd would be better, but just to save time and money Id want to use what I already have. I assumed that since its still a d series engine then it would be cool, but just want to make sure. I know its probably a dumb question, but this is my first engine swap.
FYI, a D15B7 is not a VTEC engine - you can use your transmission, axles, mounts, etc. - the D15B7 is a MPFI engine which means you will need to do the DPFI to MPFI wiring changes and get a MPFI ECU - it is also OBD1 which will require some other wiring changes in order to install it
Oh ok, well I meant a vtec head. Sorry about that. I'm glad I can still use all that. Yeah, I looked up on rywire.com about the dpfi to mpfi conversion and what they do sounds good.
