major car issue. any ideas?
so last night I was driving, I wasn't getting down on it or anything, just getting ready to get on the interstate, and all of a sudden the car jolts forward, all the lights cut on, and yeah that's about it. It did a lot of whining before it came to a complete stop ( the engine that is ). I popped in the clutch and slowed down on the side of the road, and I was pretty scared that I messed up something pretty bad. I looked under the engine, no smoking, no weird smells besides a 'slight' smell of rubber, which leads me to believe that I broke my timing belt. Now, I got a little balsy and tried to restart the car. It turned over, except it just tried and tried and tried, as if just wasn't sparking, and didn't seem very strong either. Any ideas? it's my 99 base with h22a4. Has anyone experienced this? Thanks in advance.
Yeah pull tha valve cover and check the belt, it will take you 5 minutes. If its broke start crying and praying. After that checks out take off your distributor cap and check to make sure the rotor didnt crap out. Then its just matter of going down the line of checking things out.
