I have a 99ls teg, there are major parts to a engine, theres the Block that is the bottom end of a motor has your Crankshaft rods pistons etc, and your upperend called the head of the motor that has your cams camshafts valves valve springs retainers etc, these are just basic parts man, Now people with Ls' integra can go N/A or boost its all about what you like not how much it cost because u can spend the same amount on both setups, if your looking for 200plus hp u can do N/a but u need to know what your doing and tuning is going to cost u alot, boosting can easy get u 200plus but yet again its knowing what your doing and Nothing Is "cheap" do some searching and just don't post questions b/c all the 98% of facts are here.

the cheapest way to get 200-300hp would be turbo, but first you have a lot of learning to do.

knowledge is power.

With your goals your best bet would a turbo kit. It would be the cheapest and eaisest way to meet your goal.

you can only boost about 8lbs on a un sleeved block. if you build a turbo head for it you would be a little over 300hp. i built a lsv. if you do it right you can get about 220 to 250hp.

check the LS turbo thread in FI. Most people are making 250hp with 225 tq. on a stock motor. do some more research. LS Turbo+mild boost= more power and a lot more tq than than an LS VTEC for roughly the same price.

Maybe the biggest piece of misinformation I've ever read.

If you want 300whp, efficiently, and cost effective. Go with a nice turbo setup. All motor is rather expensive, and although it's fun, a mild all motor setup, is FAR more expensive than a mild turbo setup.

Do an LS/VTEC conversion, and boost that on 8-10psi with a decent sized turbo. If your engine is healthy, and your tune is good, you'll make good power (In the realm of 300whp), and you'll have all kinds of fun with it. 300whp doesn't sound like much, God knows Gran Turismo makes it seem like moped power, but 300whp in a lighweight Honda moves the hell out. With some good driving, you'd get some high 11s.

If you need to know what EXACTLY to do, and what EXACTLY to buy, just let me know, and I'll lay it out for ya'. I don't mind helping out a n00b, it'll make life easier on you.
