Default LS into crx

whats up all I just got a ls b18b1 from a friend (very clean btw) and Im going to put it into my rex I just wanted to do a full scan here make sure if Im missing anything.
this is what I have.

94 ls b18b (complete) + ECU, wiring harness, transmission (hydro)

Now a friend told me some things. I need to get crx ls mounts (I ordered already), I need to get a cable transmission, And I need to get a wiring harness from a DA teg (is that true)???

I know my homies on here know what the deal is with the hondas so whats really good H-T? Let me know what I have to get.

what model crx?

you use your stock harness and you modify it to work with the new motor.

get a cable to hydro adapter so you can use the hydro tranny. good luck

and do a little more research and you'll be fine

I was looking to a b18a1 or b18b hopefully as a next summer project so i've been lookin into this also. I looked all through that "civic & crx faq v.2" and there really wasnt anything terribly helpful pertaining to swapping an LS into an EF, atleast nothing that i could find anyway.

From what i gather you need.

-B18a1 or B18B motor
-integra axles
-pr4 teg ecu
-crx b18 motor mounts
-b18 cable tranny (or in your case i guess the hydro to cable conversion)
different shift linkages (havent fully looked into this, i think maybe you can modify the stock ones or use the teg linkages but im not sure on that either, just throwin it out there cause i know at the very least that something must be changed to make the b18 work in an ef)

-rywire harness to work with existing LS harness
http://rywire.com/store/8891-c...aae67
sais its for the b18a1 but one would think it would work with the b18b as well but im not sure, someone else would have to clarify.

also it sais "A b18a Harness can not be used on a Si, Hf or Ex Chassis.
" so im not sure what harness to use then. put the old engine harness on the b18? that just wouldnt make sense so im kinda lost after seeing that.

i only started lookin at this a few days ago so i'm about as knowledgeable as you lol

manny already said that you use your stock harness.

you need to convert a few things, but you use your stock CRX harness!

about the shift linkages, you can either modify yours or get aftermarket ones.. hasport makes them, but I got mine from http://www.avidracing.com

for the shift linkage i've used modified ones for my swap but later i'll use the hasport one just seems better than hacking and welding one for it to fit.... do the cable to hydro conversion the new innovative one is great...good luck this swap is pretty straight forward though...

correct, you'll need the rear L-bracket from a 90-93 integra and then you'll need to install the new mount on the second set of holes in the rear crossmember like 2 inches from the original location if that.

once you've got it all in front of you you'll see what I mean by the second set of holes.

edit: you'll also need to "massage" your drivers side frame rail to get the alternator to clear. I "massaged" mine with a 10lb sledge wrapped in a t-shirt.

Something else i was wondering since the ls from the 90-91 is obd0 do i have to change anything wiring wise?

rywire only sells a kit for the obd1 LS which actually is a b18b not b18a1 like they have listed on there site. In any case i think they dont have anything for the b18a1 because it doesnt actually require any wiring modifications being its an obd0 engine. and since i already have an Si i dont have to do any wiring changes for mpfi either. That being said i think aside from the hardware changes, wiring should just be swapped directly from the d16a6 to the b18a1 correct?

and yes sure we can be ls bros lol give it about a year though probably. on another note, its pretty bad im already getting into finding parts for the b18 swap when i still havent got my mini me setup even installed yet lol. I've got the rpm activated switch now from summit racing, and now the heads on the way. got a great deal on ebay for it. $120 for a d16y8 off a 2000 civic ex with 30,000 miles, it looks sooo clean! and it has the vtec solenoid, and valve cover coming with it as well :D Im ordering the adjustable cam gear like tomorrow and then i need a few gaskets, after that i should be installing that in a week or two. and hopefully that will hold me over for a few months while i save up for parts to do the LS swap

mounts are something you shouldnt cheap out on, unless you're a really good welder and you've got hookups for a lifetime supply of new axles

Ok, these swaps are pretty basic, you have no vtec, no knock sensor and its even easier if your going to run a cable tranny. BTW I have a cable b16 tranny for sale pm me.

The motor code a1 and b1 dont matter. You need to figure out what obd your running, then go from there. If the motor you just got has the distributor and the injectors, then go ahead and run obd1. you'll need to rewire the dizzy, injectors...and a few other tihings like extending wires, there are alot of threads on this. Get some innovative mounts, there cheap and very good quality. http://www.innovativemounts.com.

These mounts may work just fine, and then they may give you problems, I have buddys that have entire ebay setups and they have no problems. Then there are those that have nothing but problems.

yes sir

dizzy= distributor.

obd=on board diagnostics, or the computer program.

obd0 is pre 1992

obd1 is 1992-1995

obd0=easier

obd1=easier for you becuase you have a 95 motor, so all you need too do is work your harness and your good.

Ok I just sold my ls transmission today for $280 (please tell me thats a good price) so I can get the cable transmission from the DA 90-93 teg. So once I get that then I will be good right? Now would I have to get the shift linkage from the 90-93 or can I still use the linkage from the tranny I just sold? And whats the deal if I use another b-series tranny or should I just use a b18 tranny cause I have to get one now what yall think

So lets say Im at this point
1. LS motor (I need injectors) where to get them?
2. LS ECU
3. LS wiring harness
4. LS shift linkage
5. LS to crx mounts (in the mail)
6. Need to get a transmission (which one)
7. ??? what do I need now?

Should I post some pics of what I have would that B easier?
also I need to get some fenders what kind do you guys think I should get Im diggin the z3 from ebay the ones with the 3 slots in them or should I just go stock?

You could have gotten 400 for that tranny.
You need 90-93 transmission shift linkage.

BTW. I have a 90-93 integra tranny, shift linkage and injectors. Everything you need.

I also I have a barely used Flywheel, clutch.
