Default OBX sand dunes issue...need info from newer CRV owners...

We had to go a bit off road to reach our destination and a buddies CRV got hung up on a dune...once we dislodged it we came to discover that some was hanging down from underneath the CRV...unsure what it is and would like some clarification. Our thoughts is that it may be part of the Evap system...? Regardless...it is located right by the gas tank and rear suspension...it has some vac lines going to it and a sensor...which is still plugged in. The car is running fine...just not sure what we broke...help is appreciated.
Thank you

Funny... The EXACT same thing happened to me.

Except i had it a LOT worse. That's the evap canister and can probably just be re- attached if it wasn't completely ripped apart. There is a Honda dealer about 40 miles away but if you call "A1 towing" they know of another shop that hooked mine back up. But just to get around and back out grab a coathanger and tie it back up the best you can and then drive it out with no passengers or stuff. I'll never bring it back out there again!!!! It made me late for my rehearsal dinner the day before my wedding!!!!

If you want a cr-v to play in the sand get a 1st generation (1997-2001). There isn't much under it to get ripped up.
But I have a jeep now so I don't have to worry about it

Thanks for the reply...I'm glad to hear we were correct in our assumption. We got a better look at things today and we ripped off the shield...what was left anyways and lightly fastened the rest back up there...thanks again for your help.
