Default Lol Funny story. and serious question.......

My friend blew up his S2000 today on the way to kentucky speedway to see danick patrick(sp) he had pit passes and everything. Here is the funny part. or sad. He blew it up racing a riced out V6 mustang. he pulled the old 3-2 shift.

Well i pulled the head off and the head is destroyed but luckily the block is fixable.

Here is my question. how do i pull the block out of the car. I dont have a motor hoist. Can i unbolt the tranny and just pull the block threw the top or do i drop it all out together through the bottom with the subframe?

you might be able to that way, but it would be unsafe in my opinion. you can rent cherry pickers for a very minimal amount from your local autoparts store or sometimes they loan for free. tell your friend he's a moron btw.

What I did when I pulled the motor from my rex was support the motor with some blocks/wood/etc.., unbolt the mounts, then jack the car up over the motor. Slide the motor out, and there it is.

You can also leave the tranny in, just be sure and split it from the block before lifting the block, or your friend could be looking for a new clutch set/input shaft...

wow, you guys are about as much help as the tards on s2ki... :D

where can i find a stock head, without having to order one from honda? Reason being is I'm going aftermarket on all springs, retainers, valves, etc and can't warrant 1200 on a full head assy when i'm not going to be using half the components

S2ki has some complete heads for sale occasionally. What you do is you come here to HT to get the funny responses and see what the hot S2ks look like then go to S2ki for all the tech and marketplace stuff. I think that is posted up there in the rules sticky somewhere.

getting built.

boring out the block, higher compression pistons, rebuilding the head. Block is going to the machine shop tomorrow to get measurements taken.

what do you guys think about Brian Crower products?

just have that one combustion chamber re-welded at a machine shop. It only cost like $60 or something, and you are good to go.

if you are getting the block built, how about if you do it right? laskey racing sell a core for $600 an dthe full built is $3550. the built block will hold up to 40 psi.

or you can do it with inlinepro too.

this is just a mild build, so fully built block is not needed.

there is no help for that head and if so it costs alot more than 60 dollars. lol

mine cost almost 500 and wasnt as bad as his. and it even had to be sent off to 4 shops because noone wanted to attempt to do it because of the extent of it.
