You can use your stock vx harness for the itr motor, unless it came with an engine harness on the motor, then you can use that harness and connect that to the interior harness under the hood. What ecu do you plan on running with the motor? If you are going to run an obd1 ecu, p28 for example, you just plug it in, if you are going to use the jdm itr ecu, you will need an ecu jumper to run the obd2 plugs with your obd1 car.

Jedi Master is right about the VX engine harness. However, you will have to add a 4-wire O2 sensor plug to the harness. The VX motor uses a 5-wire O2 sensor.

Another option is to use an OBD1 or OBD2 GS-R/ITR/DOHC VTEC Del Sol engine harness.

I would strongly suggest running a P28 ECU and not using the JDM ITR ECU it came with.

I have chipped P28 ECUs in stock and ready to ship for $225. Email me if you want one.

why wouldn't you want to run the jdm ecu, that comes with it?

The annoying speed limiter @ 110 mph is one very good reason.

you can get rid of that easily, by getting it rechipped, before you even do the engine swap.

Cheaper in the long run to use a rechipped P28. My car ran way better with a rechipped P28 as opposed to the JDM ITR ECU. Also you don't have run additional wires for knock. Swap looks alot cleaner

i can get a p28 and get it rechipped and then sell the itr one to make the money back. so lets say i get the p28 rechipped, i hook up my vx harness to it, hook up the vx connectors to the itr motor, what wont just hook up? and also i need to move the vtec oil unit from my vx to the itr, right? is there anything else i need to do.

When you say vtec oil unit are you talking about the solenoid. I don't know if the VX will fit the B18C (Try it). You are correct sell your ITR ECU sold mine for 400. Take that money got some more stuff done to the car.

yeah i meant the solenoid, b18c5-eh2 told me that it doesnt look like it'll fit my itr but he said that it would. where did you get 400 for your ecu, i see them on parts trader anywhere from 200-300 and at sohfast it is 400. i am picking up a p28 for 110, and i still need to get it chipped, how much and how long. and im still deciding on my clutch, im looking at exedy(270 shipped organic race clutch), everything else seems more $$$. any suggestions? still wondering about the exhaust too.

Exedy does seem to be the cheapest clutch (Picking a friend of mines that he never used). ACT is the only other clutch I'd use for the money (350). I sold my ECU to a local shop that I really think didn't know what they were buying (Just heard JDM ITR and I think that was all they needed to know). If you want to move that ECU quickly sell it for 150-200 if you don't really need the money ask for 300 but take no less then 225 for it (It'll move eventually).

Contact Kenji on pricing for rechipping the ECU (He's extremely reasonable). He usually takes a couple of days but if explain that you need it quickly he'll have you a little extra for him to over night it back to you (Assuming you overnight it him)

actually, you'd be looking for an OBD1--> 96-98/OBD2 ecu jumper. You had it backwards

Hard to say, though I have no direct experience with an exedy I heard they are good clutch's for NA applications. I have sold a few ACT's to some people locally and they still grab like the day we put it in (2 years and still going), and this is with some heavy footed drivers.

yeah that's probably because they are based on 95 octane. I was going to run half and half, 93 and 100. and get it chipped to get rid of the speed limiter. hyperracing can do two chips for about 235.
