1991 Accord heater stuck on
I have a 1991 Accord 2 door automatic and when youe driving arond with the
fan on or off the temperature coming out of the vents is hotter that the outside temp (the temp **** is at the coldest setting and the vents and heater valve seem to be operating normally). The outside temp was about 65F today and the
vent temp had to be at least 80F, I was about to turn the a/c on.
It feels like the heater valve is partially stuck open or maybe the vents are not
shutting off the air flow from the heater core.
Is there a common probelem of this happening or does anyone have any idea
what to test or check??
Thanks in advance,
Drew

Your heater valve cable may need adjustment,

or the heater control valve may need replacement.

I removed the cable from the heater valve and manually closed it all of the way
and there is not change.
I think there is an allowable amout of bypass from the heater valve, but i'm not sure how to check it and i don't want to buy another one and still have the same
problem.
I think I may have a problem with the blend door inside the climate box, because my a/c will blow cold until the engine gets warm and then it is 10 degees hotter (about 50-60F) when the engine gets up to temp. The a/c blows at 38F when the engine is still cold.
Compressor is cycling, charge is full.
Maybe i'll cap off the heater core.
