Default ef clock

ok, I have an 88 hatch with a clock off a 90 91 model dont know what year. but I plugged it in and it doesnt light up. if you press the buttons it lights up but other than that it doesnt. friend said it was probably because im using the 88 89 dimmer switch, anyone else have an opinion on it?

Check your number... 17? I think fuse. Its labeled as clock in the panel anyway. When mine was blown the clock would light up dim, and come on when you pressed the buttons to set it.
