the problem is everytime i fill my tank my will turn on run at low rpms an die then it wont start for about 10 min once its starts its perfect was thinkin it can be fuel filter or maybe dirty injectors any ideas?? ohh yah an did rutene maintance already plugs/cap/rotor/wires
i'm not sure how long it lasts when you don't turn your gas cap until it clicks. since yours is actually cranking, maybe that's not it, but i would check.
nah good thinking but not complettly tightening your gas cap will only give you a very small EVAP leak, that will only throw a CEL, but not stop your car from starting. Do you have any other time that the car will not start or only when you fill up?
have you mess with anything as far as engine management, or fuel lines? when my fuel line is slighty pinched it would give me that. Also since i'm running rich after awhile of some long runs it wouldnt fire up.
sounds to me like a classic main relay failure...could be an ignition switch too...IIRC there's a recall on the 97 accords/preludes/odysseys for a bad ign switch. check with the dealership
they can do a vin status check and see if your call falls under the recall.

i know i'm in the wrong sextion for this, but i'll share my experience with you. i have 1994 accord and the sme thing you mentioned would happen to me when i fill up my tank. it would take a few tries before i get it to fire up. SO it could be your main relay i did change mine out and it stopped doing it. also does your car not start up on hot days that's a classic symptom. good luck

You could try flushing your tank next time it is near empty, just to check there is no muck in there. Plus of course the fuel filter. Also do you always get your fuel from the same place, if so try another place.
this problem has nothing to do with the fuel tank, it is just the fact that your car does not want to start hot. Like everyone else has said, your main relay is at fault. There is a lot of good info on that problem if you just hit the search.
Main relay for sure. listen when you put your key in the ignition that you hear the little beap beap sounds wait till the second beap right when you hear that second beap turn the key to crank and it should turn on fine. my main relay whent a while ago and i just do this all the time and it always turns on. hope this helps. (by the way put your key in the ignition at the postion to where the car is about to crank better said so that your ac works without turning on the car. that postion!

or just...replace the relay...
if you can use a soldering iron, remove the relay and open it up, solder all the joints on the back of the board, reinstall...good as new.
