msd blaster coil question

Default msd blaster coil question

iight its a dum question but idk....i dont hav a msd igntion n i jus did msd rotor cap wires n got da blaster 2 coil...now i dont hav an ignition so idk..do i hav to use da ballast or nah cuz on da instructions it says to install a ballast resistor btween positive of da dizzy n da positive of da coil...ma boy said yu dont need dat but da instructions it says to install 1 if deres no igntion system bein used

if your asking about the resistor , yes you probably need it. the primary winding resistance on the msd coil is probably lower than most oem coils. thats why you put the resistor in line to limit the current draw. you can meter the primary winding on both coils and compare the resistance to see if you need the resistor or not. if you dont have a meter then use the resistor to be safe.
